Town of Needham

In 1899, Massachusetts passed a law requiring all towns and cities to have a seal. Like most towns, Needham adopted the seal as it’s logo and never looked back. Fast forward a few hundred years, realizing the seal no longer met modern needs, the town decided to redesign the seal for official use only and create a separate, more versatile public-facing logo. Working with a 12-member committee, we developed a bold, adaptable, and modern brand mark that honors Needham’s legacy while meeting today’s design standards.

Developed a detailed brand standards guide and various templates to ensure proper logo usage for the wide variety of municipal uses.

Retained as design consultant to create other service identities including Police, Fire and Public Works departments. Projects include municipal uniforms, town signage and way finding.
